After flying high against the Riverside-Durham Pirates on Tuesday, the Orange Panthers came back down to earth. Orange took a 37-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jordan on Thursday. Orange was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Jordan apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2017.
When it comes to explaining why Orange lost, one person who can't be blamed is Evelyn George. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Marshea Byrd was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Orange's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Jordan, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orange won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Garner at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. Allowing an average of 66 points per game, Garner has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game. Jordan's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wake Forest at 6:30 p.m. on December 8th.
