It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Desert Edge Scorpions can now relate to. They and the Knights were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but they suffered an agonizing 42-41 defeat. Desert Edge's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Desert Edge's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hezekiah Millender, who threw for 319 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Jaqua Anderson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Leading Higley to victory were Gunner Fagrell and Daxen Hall. Fagrell threw for 363 yards and two touchdowns, while Hall gained 336 total yards and two touchdowns. Hall hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for six straight games. John (jd) Decausmaker also helped out as he racked up 104 receiving yards.
Desert Edge's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Higley, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
Desert Edge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Higley also has no future games currently scheduled.
