Coby Johnson made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Miller Elijah was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Meanwhile, Gibbs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 5-2 to Lakeway Christian Academy.
Seymour now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Gibbs, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
