It was a good run, but Bishop Dunne unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 77-49 loss at the hands of the Brentwood Christian Bears. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 822nd, while the Bears are ranked 182nd).

It was another big night for Marcus Zelee, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 29 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds for Brentwood Christian. The matchup was Zelee's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryant Herring, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Bishop Dunne's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-16. As for Brentwood Christian, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Dunne will welcome Grace Community at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Grace Community's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Brentwood Christian, they will face off against Hyde Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brentwood Christian is facing Hyde Park at the right time seeing as Hyde Park is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
