After two games on the road, Valley Forge is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Nordonia Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Valley Forge came up short against Lakewood and fell 46-34. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valley Forge in their matchups with Lakewood: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite their loss, Valley Forge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Leah Plum, who scored five points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. Mikayla Hoang was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Nordonia wound up with the same score they had in their last game (45-36), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while Madison is ranked 48th).
Valley Forge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Nordonia, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
