The River Valley Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Homer-Center with a sharp 67-44 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win River Valley has managed all season.
River Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Whitfield led the charge by scoring 26 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Whitfield scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dom Speal, who scored 16 points along with six assists.
River Valley pushed their record up to 3-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Homer-Center, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
River Valley will head out on the road to face off against Purchase Line at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Purchase Line is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Homer-Center will be home for the holidays to greet West Shamokin at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
