Heritage was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Sequoyah on Thursday. The Mountaineers blew past the Chiefs 10-0. Considering the Mountaineers have won ten matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Katelyn Russell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
