There's no place like home for the Padua Franciscan Bruins, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 86-50 victory over Beachwood at home. Padua Franciscan pushed the score to 69-42 by the end of the third, a deficit Beachwood had little chance of recovering from.
Leading Padua Franciscan to victory were Riley Cervenka and JT Giannakopoulos. Cervenka scored 23 points along with eight assists, while Giannakopoulos dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Cervenka posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Gio Roman, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Padua Franciscan's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.8 points per game. As for Beachwood, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
Padua Franciscan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-63 loss vs. Lake Catholic on the 9th. Beachwood has also already played their next matchup, a 67-50 loss against Chagrin Falls on the 10th.
