Borden hasn't had much luck against West Washington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Braves will look to defend their home field against the Senators at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Borden 3.8, West Washington 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Borden took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Orleans by a score of 5-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The victory was some much needed relief for the Braves as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Aubrey McMahon's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chelbi Condon, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Mallory Thomas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Washington). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Crawford County a 26-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Senators haven't had any issues with the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Layla Manship was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Meredith Deaton, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
West Washington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .604. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory got Borden back to even at 3-3. As for West Washington, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Borden has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like West Washington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Borden might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from West Washington when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Braves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
