After flying high against Tomas  on Friday, Lamar Consolidated came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell just short of the Fort Bend Kempner Cougars by a score of  3-2 on Tuesday.  Julieann Zepeda paced Lamar Consolidated's offense, picking up 13 kills. Zepeda got some help from  Alexa Perez and her 23 assists. Zepeda also made an impact serving:  she shared the team lead in aces with  Julissa Zepeda, each putting up six.
 Fort Bend Kempner found their leader in freshman  Maylin Gutierrez, who  had 17  digs and one assist. Those 17  digs set a new season-high mark for  Gutierrez.
