Basketball Recap: Seton Catholic Piles Up the Points Against Globe

Seton Catholic won against Apache Junction last Tuesday with 78 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Seton Catholic Sentinels took their matchup with ease, bagging a 78-8 victory over the Globe Tigers. The Sentinels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Carmella Gallardo, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 36 points along with eight steals and three blocks. Her evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mia Dipuccio, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 boards.

Seton Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Seton Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.5 points per game. As for Globe, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Seton Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-19 win against Highland Prep on the 21st. Globe has also already played their next contest, a 72-42 loss against Willcox on the 21st.
