Eldorado has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Virgin Valley Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Eldorado scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They blew past Amplus Academy 74-51. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Eldorado considering their 23-point performance the matchup before.
Eric Lechuga and Kamarion Durant were among the main playmakers for Eldorado as the former dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds and the latter scored 17 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lechuga has scored all season. Daniel Murillo was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Virgin Valley entered their tilt with Lincoln County with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Virgin Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Lincoln County on Friday and snuck past 61-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Virgin Valley has posted yet this season.
Eldorado has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. As for Virgin Valley, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8.
Eldorado came up short against Virgin Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 58-50. Can Eldorado avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
