After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Smithson Valley, New Braunfels was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Boerne-Champion Chargers as they made off with a 16-5 win. Considering the Unicorns have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Mikayla Wilson was a standout: she scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Esparza, who went 2-for-5 with five RBI and two doubles.
New Braunfels was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are 13-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
New Braunfels' record is now 18-7. As for Boerne-Champion, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
