Baseball Game Preview: Red Jacket vs. Bloomfield Bombers

For the second straight game, Red Jacket will face off against Bloomfield. Red Jacket will square off against Bloomfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Red Jacket has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Red Jacket fell victim to Bloomfield and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Bombers, falling 12-0. Red Jacket hasn't had much luck with Bloomfield recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

For Bloomfield's part, Zach Chavez made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Chavez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Gunner Vogel was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Braedon Smith, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Bloomfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was the third in a row for Bloomfield, bringing their record up to 8-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Red Jacket, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
