The Madison County Cowboys had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a  29-16  victory over Oakleaf. For Madison County, this counts as revenge for the   27-21 defeat Oakleaf walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in October of 2022.
  Jason Mcdaniel continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 179 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was  Ryshard Miller, who rushed for 94 yards and  a touchdown on only seven carries.
 Despite the  defeat, Oakleaf saw an underclassman step up:  Jordin Price picked up 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns.  Michael Conner, III also helped out as he racked up 110 receiving yards.
 Madison County's victory  bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Oakleaf, they are  on a five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-5.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison County will  take on Chiefland at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Chiefland will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Madison County is ranked 53rd). As for Oakleaf, they will head out on the road to face off against Bartram Trail at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
