The South Caldwell Spartans waltzed into their matchup Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bunker Hill 60-18 at home. That looming 60-18 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for South Caldwell yet this season.
Lillie Bumgarner continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Setzer, who scored nine points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bunker Hill struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
South Caldwell's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Bunker Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Caldwell will face off against West Caldwell at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. West Caldwell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 514th, while South Caldwell is ranked 117th). As for Bunker Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Stephens at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Stephens is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.8 points per game.
