Community Baptist Christian is 1-8 against Trinity since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Last Friday, Community Baptist Christian came up short against Suburban Christian and fell 57-50.
Meanwhile, Trinity strolled past Hammond Academy of Science & Tech with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 47-29. The victory was just what Trinity needed coming off of a 53-21 defeat in their prior match.
Trinity's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Palmer led the charge by scoring 12 points along with four steals. Palmer has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Nathan Palmer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Community Baptist Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6. As for Trinity, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.
Community Baptist Christian was dealt a bruising 51-19 loss at the hands of Trinity when the teams last played back in December of 2021. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Community Baptist Christian was down 33-4.
