Ledford has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lexington Senior recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers will host the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Ledford has given up an average of 31.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Ledford's last matchup with Randleman could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Panthers were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 49-14. The Panthers have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Ledford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dominique Arthur rushed for 134 yards and one TD.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lexington Senior). They blew past High Point Central, posting a 42-0 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Lexington Senior found their leader in freshman Jaiden Summers, who threw for 268 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes. The Yellowjackets' leading receiver Ja'Hon Robinson was Summers' top target yet again, picking up 129 receiving yards and one score.
One reason for the win was Lexington Senior's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Zakhi White was the leader with two. Lexington Senior is undefeated when White posts one or more sacks, but 2-4 otherwise. The Yellowjackets got some further help from Jermone Robinson: he made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Lexington Senior now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Ledford, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for Ledford against Lexington Senior in their previous meeting back in October of 2019, as the squad secured a 52-6 victory. In that contest, the Panthers amassed a halftime lead of 28-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
