Notre Dame and Central Valley Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Notre Dame Jugglers will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Central Valley Academy Thunder at 7:00 p.m. Notre Dame comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Notre Dame came up short against Vernon-Verona-Sherrill and fell 57-46.
Meanwhile, after a string of 13 wins, Central Valley Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Rome Free Academy 90-86. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (60), Central Valley Academy still had to take the loss.
Deacon Judd put forth a good effort for the losing side as he shot 5-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double on 42 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tom Jacquays, who scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Notre Dame dropped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Central Valley Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-2.
Notre Dame might still be hurting after the 75-50 defeat they got from Central Valley Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Judd, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Now that Notre Dame knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
