Basketball Recap: Priest River Piles Up the Points Against Coeur Du Christ Academy

Priest River put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by the Coeur du Christ Academy Saints to the tune of 79-49. Fans of the Spartans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Priest River had a senior duo take command as Palmer Coleman almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine assists and Nate Stiffel went 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Lamanna, who posted eight points.

Coeur du Christ Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Connelly, who had 23 points. Grant Clemens was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Priest River's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Coeur du Christ Academy, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1.

Priest River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-45 win against Genesis Prep Academy on the 12th. As for Coeur du Christ Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 93-50 loss against Lakeside on the 13th.
