East Stroudsburg North hasn't had much luck against Stroudsburg recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Timberwolves will be playing at home against the Mountaineers at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
East Stroudsburg North headed into their last match having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but William Allen let them put that streak behind them. The Timberwolves' pitcher stepped up to hand the Canaries a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Timberwolves as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Jennika Doyle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, East Stroudsburg North let Alexia Marie Robinson and Jaylean Marcoux run wild. Robinson went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Marcoux went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave Marcoux a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joselin Flores, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Stroudsburg's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Pocono Mountain East on Friday. The Mountaineers had just enough and edged out East Stroudsburg South 7-5.
Melissa Safin was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Molinaro, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one RBI.
Stroudsburg's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for East Stroudsburg North, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 3-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. East Stroudsburg North has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Stroudsburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
