Softball Recap: Northwood Wins Going Away Against Warsaw

NorthWood won the last time they faced Warsaw and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Panthers have won seven matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

NorthWood got a massive performance out of Payton Sears, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Sears has posted since back in April. Taryn Marcum was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

NorthWood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

NorthWood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Warsaw, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

The Panthers are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Cavemen a six-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Meanwhile, Warsaw will square off against rival Northridge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
