Pleasant Ridge has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Friday. They will face off against the Jackson Heights Cobras at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Pleasant Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Pleasant Ridge humbled McLouth with a 78-12 victory. With that win, Pleasant Ridge brought their scoring average up to 57 points per game.
Pleasant Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Potter, who scored 20 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Murphy, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Jackson Heights strolled past Atchison County with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 48-30.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dawson Cochren, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Cochren has scored at least 25% of Jackson Heights' points. Taylor Bosley was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The losses dropped Pleasant Ridge to 1-1 and McLouth to 0-2.
Pleasant Ridge might still be hurting after the 54-33 loss they got from Jackson Heights in their previous meeting back in February. Can Pleasant Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
