The Annapolis Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Bowie Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Annapolis will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Annapolis barely beat Southern the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-4 victory on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Colin Bashor made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for Annapolis: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 1-13 otherwise. Bashor was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Malachi Quinn was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Ben Sale also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Bowie entered their tilt with DuVal on Saturday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 8-3.
Like Annapolis, Bowie also got a great game from a two-way player: Jack Young. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Young has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Brown, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Jayden Ryland was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Bowie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matchups.
Bowie pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Annapolis, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-13.
Everything went Annapolis' way against Bowie in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Annapolis made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
