The Camp Point Central Panthers will head out to square off against the Quincy Notre Dame Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Camp Point Central turned things around against Hamilton/Warsaw on Tuesday. They blew past the Titans 9-3. Surprisingly, this marked the Panthers' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Collin Likes tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

Camp Point Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Quincy Notre Dame waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 17-11 margin over the Indians. Considering the Raiders have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Abram Wiewel, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Eli Johnson, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Quincy Notre Dame's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Camp Point Central, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 7-13.
Camp Point Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Quincy Notre Dame in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
