Northwest Christian School is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Chewelah is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Crusaders will host the Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Saturday, Northwest Christian School made easy work of Kettle Falls and carried off an 8-1 victory. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Preston Mortlock was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Adin Spuler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, while Chewelah put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Reardan. The Cougars blew past the Screaming Eagles 12-0. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by exactly 12 runs.
The team relied heavily on Miles Krausz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke McGuire, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Chewelah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Reardan only posted an OBP of .222.
Northwest Christian School's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Chewelah, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Northwest Christian School hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .358. However, it's not like Chewelah struggles in that department as they've averaged .384. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
