The McLean County Cougars will face off against the Brookville Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
McLean County will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Todd County Central on Friday. McLean County was the clear victor by a 13-4 margin over Todd County Central. Considering the Cougars have won four contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Corbin Martin was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

In other pitching news, Layden Bozarth looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Houston Whitaker, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Jaelin Groves, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Brookville was able to grind out a solid victory over Bath County on Monday, taking the game 5-1.
Grayson Reynolds was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Carson Collins was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.
Brookville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bath County only managed five hits.
The win got McLean County back to even at 4-4. As for Brookville, their record is now 1-0.
