While losing is never fun, Northmont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while Wayne is ranked 63rd).
Wayne was led to victory by Imani Frazier and Jonilyah Chambers. Frazier dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Chambers scored 19 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The game was Chambers' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Morgyn Rose, who scored 12 points.
Northmont's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-3. As for Wayne, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Northmont will be playing at home against Butler at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wayne, they will head out on the road to face off against Springboro at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Springboro and Wayne are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
