B District 3 (8 Man) recap Oct. 23, 2012
Wyatt Armstrong and Cody Harrington provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Woodland. The longest such play in B District 3 (8 Man) this season, the connection resulted in 71 yards.
The Cougars were able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping South Coffeyville. Woodland came in at 23 in the state poll after placing at number 32 last week.
The Lions' dynamic duo of Armstrong and Harrington proved tough for Joe Sindelar's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Armstrong threw for 155 yards and one touchdown and Harrington had 87 yards receiving. Zach Cantrell helped South Coffeyville's passing attack out by catching five balls for 68 yards.
Casey Pendergraft was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 30 carries, he ran for 174 yards as Welch lost to the Cougars. Teammate Tra Dodson added to the ground attack by rushing for 56 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Rejoice Christian takes on Craig Hood's team. The Eagles are currently in first, while the Lions are in fifth.
Rejoice Christian extended the longest winning streak in B District 3 (8 Man) this week by beating Riverfield Country Day, 15-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for Albert Kemp's team.
