The Arlington Eagles will challenge the Jackson Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Arlington's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Jackson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Arlington's offense. They lost 7-0 to Kamiak on Thursday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.
Jackson never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Meadowdale on Wednesday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Mavericks. The Timberwolves haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Clara Dorgan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madi Jacquot, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Aliana Langsea was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Jackson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2025.
Arlington's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Jackson, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Arlington has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Jackson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Arlington skirted past Jackson 4-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
