The Wayne Preparatory Academy Generals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Freedom Christian Academy on the road to the tune of 61-30. Winning may never get old, but Wayne Preparatory Academy sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Wayne Preparatory Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kenya Copeland, who scored 15 points along with seven steals. Copeland hasn't dropped below three steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Onisty Jones, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Freedom Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Allison Lett dropped a double-double on 16 points and 19 rebounds. Lett has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Powell, who scored eight points.
Wayne Preparatory Academy pushed their record up to 12-10 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Freedom Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne Preparatory Academy will square off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Howard is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Freedom Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. O'Neal will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
