The Rome Free Academy Black Knights waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Camden 85-46 at home. With Rome Free Academy ahead 48-22 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Leading Rome Free Academy to victory were Uzziah Grimes and Surafia Norries. Grimes scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and four steals, while Norries dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten assists. Norries is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Deandre Neal, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Rome Free Academy pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points per game. As for Camden, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rome Free Academy will take on Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Notre Dame is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Camden will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oneida at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
