Softball Recap: Glide Picks Up Ninth Consecutive Win

Glide had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They blew past the Coquille Red Devils 21-0. Considering the Wildcats have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Aryanna Belloir was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Glide got a massive performance out of Halle Goodman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. With that strong performance, Goodman is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. Gracelynn Schartz was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Glide kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Glide's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Coquille, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Glide beat the Red Devils by a score of 17-2 on Friday.
