Stratford stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Sanford-Fritch at home to the tune of 69-0. Stratford pushed the score to 56-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Sanford-Fritch had no chance of recovering from.
Stratford can attribute much of their success to Chase Lantelme, who threw for 114 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also picked up 62 receiving yards. Trey Smith also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Highland Park's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 56-32 defeat at the hands of Farwell. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Elyes Torres, who picked up 213 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Torres' longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards. Benjamin Ho also helped out as he racked up 118 receiving yards.
Stratford's win was their eighth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.9 points per game. As for Highland Park, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Stratford against Highland Park when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 61-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stratford since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
