It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Riverview Sarasota Rams had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They breezed by the Bobcats on the road to the tune of 66-30. Riverview Sarasota has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Riverview Sarasota was led to victory by Kyrsten Montas and Ava Sims. Montas scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Sims scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Montas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maddie Kopf, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
North Port's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rhiley Richards, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 36.7% of North Port's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Gisele Novielli was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Riverview Sarasota, bringing their record for this year to 21-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for North Port, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.
Riverview Sarasota didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-55 defeat vs. Venice on the 9th. North Port does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
