The Osmond/Randolph Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge 63-59. While losing is never fun, Osmond/Randolph can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is ranked 98th).
When it comes to explaining why Osmond/Randolph lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brayden Shearer. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shearer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Xander Brown, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Gibson Roberts continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, scoring 30 points along with five steals. Kolby Hansen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Osmond/Randolph has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Osmond/Randolph and Plainview will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Wakefield at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Wakefield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
