Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nease). They were the clear victor by a 63-42 margin over the Gateway Panthers on Saturday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Nease with their most commanding win of the season.

Langston Hackworth was his usual excellent self, putting up 15 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chase Phifer, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Nease has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season. As for Gateway, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Nease and Gateway could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Nease (ranked 349th) will meet Providence School (ranked 85th) at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Similarly, Gateway (ranked 203rd) will meet Osceola (ranked 21st) at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
