The Sebastian River Sharks lost against the Vero Beach Indians back in February of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Sebastian River received a tough blow as they fell 45-28 to Vero Beach. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sebastian River has scored all season.
Several Sharks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Collier, who scored six points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dakari Greene, who scored two points along with six rebounds.
Jayden Peart was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds for Vero Beach. Jeremia Sanders was another key contributor, scoring two points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Sebastian River has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Vero Beach, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sebastian River will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Satellite at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Vero Beach and Central will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Vero Beach in Florida (Central is ranked 94th, while Vero Beach is ranked 337th).
