The Coastal Academy Stingrays will venture away from home to challenge the El Camino Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Wednesday, Coastal Academy got the win against Bishop's by a conclusive 9-3. The Stingrays have beaten the Knights the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Knights has come to flipping the script.

Therese Frazer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sunday Mcduffee, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ava Alvarez, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Coastal Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, El Camino made easy work of University City on Tuesday and carried off a 10-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
El Camino also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Kailey Stanford gave up only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Ai'Lynnd A'Ano was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Bella Mendoza was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
Coastal Academy's record now sits at 8-3. As for El Camino, their record is now 10-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Coastal Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like El Camino struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Coastal Academy skirted past El Camino 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Stingrays repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
