Spectrum and Heritage Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Sting will host Heritage Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Spectrum's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Heritage Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Tuesday, Spectrum made easy work of Breck and carried off a 12-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Sting, who have now won four matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Tony Ambrose was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Ambrose was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Spectrum got a massive performance out of Levi Sims, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Joshua Jeske, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Spectrum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Breck only posted an OBP of .382.
Meanwhile, Heritage Christian fell victim to Mayer Lutheran and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, Heritage Christian's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
The win made it two in a row for Spectrum and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Heritage Christian, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3.
Spectrum suffered a grim 13-7 defeat to Heritage Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Sting have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
