Middleton is on a four-game streak of home losses, and West Carroll a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Middleton Tigers will look to defend their home field against the West Carroll War Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Middleton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Middleton came out on top against Fayette Ware on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run seventh inning. The Tigers walked away with a 15-10 win over the Wildcats.

Brody Cornelius was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Middleton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 1-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Tony Street, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Middleton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
The home team had come away the winner the last six times West Carroll and Gleason had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The War Eagles fell 10-6 to the Bulldogs on Friday.
Cole McMinn was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had over his last four matchups. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Eli Bryant made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Harlan Hames was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
West Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19-1. As for Middleton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Middleton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like West Carroll struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Middleton suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to West Carroll in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
