The Oakes Tornadoes were the 56-54 winner over the Sargent County Bulldogs when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Oakes fell 44-32 to Sargent County on Monday. Oakes just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Despite the loss, Oakes still got an impressive performance from Lily Thorpe, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Oakes struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Oakes' defeat ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-4. As for Sargent County, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Oakes will be playing at home against Enderlin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Enderlin is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Sargent County, they will head out on the road to take on Barnes County North co-op [North Central/Wimbledon-Courtenay] at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
