Softball Recap: Carter Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Carter won against Gatlinburg-Pittman on Tuesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Seymour Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Addy Freeman was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Hayden Neely also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Carter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seymour only posted an OBP of .310.

The victory was the third in a row for Carter, bringing their record up to 10-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Seymour, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Carter will take on Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Seymour, they will challenge Austin-East at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
