Basketball Recap: Levi Cavalli Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Loyalton

Hayfork hadn't done well against Loyalton recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hayfork Timberjacks blew past the Loyalton Grizzlies 68-43. The Timberjacks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 25 points or more this season.

Hayfork's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Levi Cavalli led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Cavalli also racked up six assists, the most he's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Tatem Wiley, who posted 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Hayfork smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Hayfork's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Loyalton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Hayfork wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 82-36 victory against Los Molinos on the 21st. As for Loyalton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-34 defeat against Paradise on the 20th.
