The biggest upset of the week belonged to Red Bluff, who took down 93rd ranked Paradise, 34-12. Tucker Gulliford ran for 165 yards in the win.
The Spartans moved up to 290 from 320 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Eastern. Red Bluff was able to make move up by topping the Bobcats 34-12.
Foothill's dynamic duo of Ryan Pollard and Cooper Janusveskis proved tough for Oroville to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Pollard threw for 145 yards and four touchdowns and Janusveskis had 117 yards receiving. Drew Miller helped Foothill's passing attack out by catching two balls for 32 yards.
Brad Woods was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 176 yards on 23 carries as Enterprise beat the Tigers. Teammate Justin Abney added to the ground attack by rushing for 55 yards.
Willie Mitchell made the biggest impact on defense this week as Foothill bested Oroville. The 6-foot-1 defensive lineman recorded one fumble and racked up one sack.
Chico's Daniel Robbins and Jesse Holmes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Robbins has thrown for 2279 yards this season, while Holmes has 56 catches for 1006 yards. Corey Hein's team's Gulliford leads the league in rushing yards with 1207.
Bryon Hamilton's team's Jacob Shaddox needs only 68 yards against the Spartans next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Shaddox has rushed for 932 yards on 127 carries so far this year.
Going into this week's game against Red Bluff, the Cougars' Pollard needs 152 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season. Accruing a total of 24 touchdowns this year, Pollard has thrown for 1848 yards with six interceptions.
A big matchup in Eastern this week will be when the Spartans take on Foothill. At the moment, Red Bluff is in first, while the Cougars are in third.
Foothill took down Steve Steinmann's team 55-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Pollard in the win.
