The Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans won the last time they faced the Tonopah Valley Phoenix, and things went their way on Thursday too. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy took down Tonopah Valley 47-31. The win made it back-to-back wins for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy.
It was another big night for Luke Morgan, who scored 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's points. Kellen Palmer was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Several Phoenix players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sir-Izzik Sanchez-Caldwell, who scored eight points.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Tonopah Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Veritas Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Veritas Prep is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Tonopah Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Yuma Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Yuma Catholic will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
