After a string of three wins, Mill Springs Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tapestry Charter. Mill Springs Academy has not had much luck with Tapestry Charter recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Mill Springs Academy saw an underclassman step up: Hampton Hill scored 24 points. That was a full 50% of Mill Springs Academy's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Frommer, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tapestry Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kingston Willingham, who scored 15 points. Willingham is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Makhi Miller was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Mill Springs Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3. As for Tapestry Charter, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.
Mill Springs Academy will head out on the road to challenge LaGrange Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. LaGrange Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Tapestry Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Atlanta Area School for the Deaf at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
