Riverside is a perfect 10-0 against Western Wayne since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. Riverside is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
Riverside had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Carbondale Area on Tuesday. The Vikings blew past the Chargers 8-2. Considering the Vikings have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Connor McNally was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Western Wayne never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Lake-Lehman.
Like Riverside, Western Wayne also got a great game from a two-way player: Damian Glackin. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Glackin also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Western Wayne is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-12 otherwise. Glackin was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Lamberton, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jamie Chapman, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Riverside's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.5 runs across that stretch. As for Western Wayne, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-14.
Western Wayne's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. It's a different story for Western Wayne, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Riverside's hitters?
Riverside took their win against Western Wayne in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
