After a string of nine wins, the Canyon Comanches's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Foothill. Canyon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Foothill apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Canyon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jeremy Loreto. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with two steals. Loreto continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Noah Kim was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Foothill, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canyon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hesperia at 9:00 a.m. on January 20th. Hesperia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 593 points over their last eight matches. As for Foothill, they will head out on the road to face off against Yorba Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Yorba Linda is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
