The Meadows School hasn't had much luck against Boulder City recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Mustangs will take on the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, The Meadows School put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Democracy Prep Agassi Campus a 16-0 shutout. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Blue Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
The Meadows School got a massive performance out of Dylan Howard, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases Howard has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Leighton Bekhor, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Boulder City, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past Sports Leadership & Management 12-2 on Tuesday. The Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 28, 2025 (when they won 10-0).
Payton Rogers and Rhiley Beck were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Rogers struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Beck struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Rogers went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Beck went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Rogers also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Khloei Chisholm, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Zia Fisher, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Boulder City hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sports Leadership & Management struck out 13 times.
The Meadows School now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Boulder City, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-8.
Boulder City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: The Meadows School has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .567. It's a different story for Boulder City, though, as they've only averaged .320. Will they be able to contain The Meadows School's hitters?
The Meadows School might still be hurting after the 20-2 loss they got from Boulder City in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
